About Us

The Lupus Foundation of America, Greater Ohio Chapter Inc., is a grassroots and mostly volunteer organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education, and advocacy. Our vision is a world without lupus. The organization will advance the science and medicine of lupus to find a cure and improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus. Our brand defines who we are and what we stand for. It is illuminated through all that we do and say. It emboldens us to fight the cruel mystery of lupus. We live it and breath it., everyday. We give it a powerful and distinctive voice in all communications that reflects these five traits: Caring, Urgent, Clear, Expert, and Hopefulness.

I have been so blessed by doing what I love and am passionate about.  Through the years I have lead the charge for several small business.  Each had it's own set of ups and downs.   Each circumstance is different, but what I learned most and want to share is this:  Be Bold- Be Brave - Be Humble... Wow!  Great need.  Big goal and it is going to need some major dollars.  I have dozens of ideas for tried and true peer to peer events but you are going to need major donor dollars. You do not mention if you are a 501c or if your are in your infancy state.  What scale are you trying to work to? ... Do you have a board?  Who are your advocates or support?   Kudos for trying to make a difference.

 My answer would be to not put it on there you were trying to sell a subscription to newsletter that may not have value to the recipient change your tactics focus on social networking such as Facebook build your Facebook platform you can buy ads very cheap to target specific military families... Greetings, One of the problems is too many people are asking for resources and not enough of us have access to those who give. Tough and challenging but it can be done. Unless your grant ready and have the resources to do grants, make a pass for now. Go to your Board and see who they know. ... (more) Greetings, One of the problems is too many people are asking for resources and not enough of us have access to those who give. Tough and challenging but it can be done. Unless your grant ready and have the resources to do grants, make a pass for now. Go to your Board and see who they know. People give to people who ask. Start with them to open the doors. Fundraising events are time suckers but are also lifesavers. Get a base of volunteers and see who they know. Passion trumps many obstacles. Good Luck.
