Since 1975, Pegasus has provided the many benefits of equine-assisted activities and therapies to people with special needs and individuals at risk. We also are developing a veterans program, set to launch in fall 2017. We are one of the first therapeutic riding centers in the U.S., and we are a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center. We offer both therapeutic horseback riding and unmounted horsemanship lessons.
Our founders, all lifelong equestrians, observed therapeutic riding in Europe and realized there was a real need for the same programs in the U.S. They came back to the Northeast and founded Pegasus, serving 3 adults and 3 children with special needs in the first riding session. It was a huge success, and the program has grown over the past four decades, serving hundreds of participants each year.
