About Us

ATW is a content development and marketing company. We write and share custom, organic copy for businesses, nonprofits and organizations in public and private sectors, always with clients' objectives, strategy, mission, vision and values in mind.

How We Got Started

All Things Writing, LLC was officially launched in January, 2014 by Katherine Gotthardt, who has written since she was a child. Thinking she would operate as a freelance writer and editor, Katherine was pleasantly surprised when she became inundated by requests for services. By 2015, she had so much work, she needed a team. So she partnered up.

Through partnering, ATW provides a full spectrum of content development, content marketing and copywriting services.

Writing is part of who I am. It's how I process the world. If I didn't write for a living in some way, I would not be able to earn a living. I write for work, I write for relaxation, I write for the joy of self-expression, I write for the sake of writing. (more) Writing is part of who I am. It's how I process the world. You are confusing marketing and sales. Marketers are there to hone your message, get the word out and help you tout your business. You or your sales team must close the sale. You might want to review the concept of the sales funnel, then re-word your question. (more) You are confusing marketing and sales. That's pretty telling. If it takes 7 touches to make a sale and 3-5 of those touches are through content, what happens if you have no content? Content can be anything from your website copy, to brochures, to social media, to video to webinars. Just something to think about.

Do you have a business plan? 2. Do you have a marketing plan? 3. If you have 1 and/or 2, have you updated them recently? I ask those questions because if you don't have a strategy, it's easy to start flailing around, throwing anything out there to see what sticks. Many people don't think they need these plans because they aren't going for a loan or external funding, but the truth is, every business needs them. If you don't have them or you have not updated them recently, you might use a template (MS Word has business plan templates, believe it or not) or check the SBA. It doesn't have to be anything pretty - just something to get you focused on concrete goals. You'd be surprised what you can learn just by making yourself fill out answers to questions on your competition, your unique value proposition, etc. From there, I think it usually becomes evident where your marketing and advertising are falling short (because if you can't answer those questions, you can't focus your marketing and advertising), but if you go through that exercise and still don't know, I would say sit down with someone and go over it. You can do it through a paid consult or you might try a good think tank kind of Meetup where everyone is helping each other out. I'm not sure where you are, but where we are, there is a nonprofit that helps start ups, entrepreneurs and self-employed people for little or no cost to write and evaluate plans like this. Good luck! I know it can be hard, but keep at it.

With all of this, you will want to couple your visuals with strong written content to provide context and credibility. You might also try to partner with website developers, graphic designers, marketing agencies and others whose clients might need professional photography.
