About Us

The Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce is part of a network of Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade that exist in virtually every community across Ontario and Canada. The Chamber network consists of 65,000 businesses provincially and 170,000 businesses nationally. Locally, the Chamber has over 400 members and is recognized as this area's official "Voice of Business." This voice is an effective force in influencing issues and legislation affecting your business and our community. It is a membership based and not-for-profit association that is led by an elected volunteer Board of Directors.
The Chamber serves small businesses, tourism oriented businesses, industry and institutions through these core functions:

(more) Loved ones are the most important part of our lives. Unfortunately, we tend to forget that until they are gone.  Holidays can be tough - for a variety of reasons and everyone's circumstances are unique.  When the drama starts - and inevitably it will - try to take a step back and just observe for a fleeting moment.  Your anxiety might heighten, your shoulders might tense up, your own temper might even begin to flare, but if you can make yourself think, even if just for a moment, "how would I feel if this was only a memory - and this person was no longer here?" - (in most cases!) your heart would begin to soften, the corners of your mouth will lift into a grin and you will understand that this is only one moment in time, it will pass, and even if there is bellowing and bickering involved, one day, someday, you will retell this story, and find humour in it. Don't forget, there are thousands of people alone at the holidays. Thankfully you are not one of them.
