There is a lot. When I started our business it was 1996 and I was 23 years old so a lot of learning was going to happen. The economy was on a up swing and was going to be for 4 more years. Of course no one knew this. We were fortunate and we were performing a lot of work and adding crew after crew quite rapidly. I always believed early on to keep reinvesting in the company. This is a good plan but you also have to at some point put some in your personal pocket. I didn’t do this my first 4 years, I believe looking back that I felt that the economy would keep climbing for eternity (foolish young man) of course it didn’t and as the economy changed I found myself with a fair share of loans and a down turn in the market. We survived but as I looked back and thought we were so strong for so long how come personally you don’t have a lot to show for it. I mean come on for 4 to 6 years you worked tirelessly around the clock and have done many substantial projects. It is easy to be a Monday morning quarter back after the fact. So from that day forward I decided to yes invest in the company but do it with money that is already earned not money that is going to be and also have some for your self when it is possible. It is still uncomfortable for me to put myself and family in front of the company. So I now do this, first half of the year is for the company and growth and the second half of the year if all is going well is for family. My point is of course we all love what we do or we wouldn’t be doing it but we have to remember why we started doing it in the first place. To fill a need in the community, to employ others and make them better off for knowing you and yes to make money. So build a business but also build yourself in the process. Take as few loans as possible if any, use your credit cards but pay them off at the end of each month and don’t buy what you don’t already have in your bank account. Thank you Sure Seal Inc. To be blunt and honest, a waste of money for our style of company and clientele we like working with. Our company Sure Seal Inc. Has been in business for 23 years so we have tried a lot of things to drive customers our direction. I found getting people who want estimates isn’t difficult, getting people to sign a contract is another story. We have learned some estimates you don’t want and some clientele you don’t want either. I don’t mean that with any disrespect. We work with a lot of customers that are already established and don’t want to hire the cheap guy and have to redo lower quality work. Sometimes times where you get your estimates from will determine what type of jobs you get. In my experience home advisor and like companies drive customers that are not a good fit for our services.
