Music Junction is a Los Angeles-based music school company that provides in-person training and virtual lessons, to over 400 local students. Private lessons are offered on-site or virtually for Piano, Guitar, Singing, Violin and Ukulele lessons for kids and adults ages 4 and up.
Our Music Junction teachers are highly trained and talented music teachers with music degrees, thoroughly vetted through a multi-level interview and testing process, so that only the best teachers join our team. Music Junction teachers welcome both adults and kids, and are well versed in holding the attention of a young audience. Young students can enjoy our “Smile Tickets’ program to earn tickets to win prizes for their accomplishments, which provides fun engagement and motivation for young learners.
Perform with us! Students at Music Junction also motivate and inspire each other in 4 yearly recitals (Spring, Winter, Summer & Fall), and other performance opportunities like our virtual concerts, our singing contest and local community events.
History:
Music Junction is a stomping ground where up-and-coming musicians thrive. Founded in 2012 by Charissa Wheeler and Bob Vaughan. From in-person lessons to virtual lessons, to online courses, Music Junction provides training for musicians at any level. Our recitals and concerts have included up to 1000 attendees. The school also features performers in livestream concerts that showcase musicians from all over the world.
Music Junction charitable outreach programs raise donations for music education, such as join-the-band Rock Concerts that helps schools raise funds for their arts programs. Our annual charity singing contest, “Burbank Singing Star,” supports music ed in the public schools - with Radio Disney as a Grand Prize Sponsor and Judges from American Idol, the Grammy’s and Broadway.
Music Junction is committed to inspire creativity, showcase talent, and give musicians a place to express their gifts.
Music Junction founder, Charissa Wheeler, is a Los Angeles-based professional singer and long-time voice and piano teacher. Her mother was also a music teacher, running a large private home studio in Minnesota during most of Charissa’s childhood. After teaching for more than a decade, Charissa opened the first Music Junction in 2012 with business partner and musician, Bob Vaughan. Now the school has grown to hundreds of students, in-person & online, streaming courses, and multiple charitable programs.
A member of the Kiwanis club and a local advocate for music education, Charissa created the annual charity singing contest for kids, "Burbank Singing Star," to raise funds for music ed in public schools and support Burbank's local talent. She also hosts regular live-stream concerts to showcase young talent.
