Hi Donna

I am not in the business as you can tell but as a customer I believe you need to engage your customers on a personal level, which is what social marketing is all about. You run a very personal business as flowers are uplifting for every occasion, yes even a funeral. You need to find out every important date, in a customers life, birthdays, anniversaries, regular expressions of love a husband/wife/partner would make plus much more.

Then you set up a reminder system to contact your client on those dates to remind them about purchasing flowers. Flowers are personal, so become a personal friend with your customer. The local wine store has done this perfectly, they did a little survey when I first purchased from them.

They call me everytime a special occasion is coming up to remind me about my favourite wine, they call me when they have deals, they call me when they haven't seen me in a while etc. It is work but easier these days with how computers can assist.

Pre-sell flowers like I do with my Goalie lessons, you can offer a deal if someone purchases 6-12 flower deliveries a year. Then you automatically send the flowers on the pre-purchased dates. For instance I would like to send my wife flowers monthly but I travel a lot, have a bad memory ( I hate getting older) and just forget. You could save my life by making sure flowers arrived every month.

This can also provide you with nice cash flow with pre-bought plans.

Just some thoughts from a customer, but I also run a marketing company ESG Marketing Solutions, let me know if we could assist in setting up this plan for you, all handled online.
