Our story began in early 2005 when Mahmud Khalfan, who at the time was a senior tax manager at a large accounting firm, made a bold decision to take the entrepreneurial plunge. At the time, Mahmud and his wife were expecting their third child. A chance discussion with a colleague suddenly presented a tax consultancy opportunity with a small accounting firm, that offered the potential for him to start his own accounting and tax practice. While the opportunity of entrepreneurship sounded exciting and promising, the fear of the unknown, coupled with his young and expanding family dynamic, along with the thought of losing a steady well paying job, weighed heavily on Mahmud’s mind. This was not an easy decision to make. Mahmud rationalized his decision very carefully, and came away with the attitude of “what’s the worse that could happen?”. With the whole-hearted support of his family, Mahmud set out on his journey to becoming an entrepreneur. The rest as they say is history!
