How We Got Started
After being in Thousand Oaks for 10 years, took over a retiring doctor and rebranded the practice. We are looking to grow and expand in Camarillo and the surrounding area.

As a medical practice, we have been open the entire time. We’ve had to change some protocols in the office and schedule patients differently but have been fully functional which we have been grateful for. We hope to fill in the gaps to really open up the schedule soon. The only thing is we do have 1 employee go down with Covid and is recovering. This staff is trying really hard to rest up to come back.
It's been great for us. We just needed to gap the loss due to the volume we lost due to the pandemic. We've recovered nicely and whatever we owe after the forgiveness will be easily be paid off without much trouble. I honestly am glad our small practice applied for it.

I wish the insurance companies wouldn't keep raising my premiums and decreasing coverage for my employees. I work hard to provide health insurance for my employees.

The challenges I face are how much to budget for marketing and is that budget enough to compete with others in the same market? Unfortunately, the more money you use for marketing, the more eyes you get on your business.

The way I look at it, it's to show you want to take care of your employees. My business has the means to afford it so why not invest in your staff and take care of them.

Our first response is always of "What did I do to get this diagnosis?" "Did I do something prior that caused this?" Sometimes it's just genetics, we are born with a higher risk of getting cancer because of family history. As devastating as it is to get the diagnosis, the quicker you accept that you have cancer, the quicker you can move forward in trying to beat it. It's at this time you build a team of family, friends, and doctors to try put your cancer into remission. Sometimes you win and sometimes you don't. It's all about attitude and how you approach it. You can learn a lot about yourself through a difficult situation like cancer. I've never personally experienced it but I have lost a family member because of it. It taught me a lot about how to approach it and how I leaned on my faith in God to help me through it.

I am one of the very few doctors that run on time. We often get compliments on how efficient our office runs. Our patients never have to wait long in the waiting room before going back to the treatment room. Once they are in the treatment room, I get in there within minutes of them getting settled in the treatment chair. Every time the patient is pleasantly surprised at how quickly they get seen. I think it's sad that they expect to be waiting a long time to see the doctor. Our staff is trained to be warm as soon as the patient enters the door until they check out regardless of the mood of the patient. It fosters a pleasant experience from start to finish. We strive to do that each and every day!

Naturally, I'm trained in Western medicine meaning I mainly use all traditional approaches to get the patient better. I do feel that holistic treatments have a place in medicine as well. To get the best bang for treatment outcomes, I often employ a combination of both. Patients often like having the option of doing both and often ends up happening is that they get better quicker. Practitioners that are stuck one way or the other need to be more open on the benefits of alternative treatments that can be used in combination with traditional treatment plans. They are a great supplement to get the patient better.
If that pain or ache stays a lot longer than it's supposed to be, then go get it checked out. Don't allow that annoying/nagging pain or ache keep you from enjoying the activities you love or hinder you from performing your line of work at the highest level.
