When my son was an infant, my life completely changed, handling a divorce, a sick mother and a small child was more than most jobs can handle in terms of needing to be home in a care giving situation, in a time when working from home was in it's fledgling stage. My organization allowed a work from home program about 6 months after all these changes were becoming to overwhelming to handle, so I flexed my time, but it still was not enough. This same organization, sponsored independent consultants, and my business had grown to a point where it was do it now, or stay in this situation for ever. So I consulted my business manager, we crunched the numbers, and I make the plunge. Scary, on my yes,but, my family supported me, at this point mom was better, my son was in day care, it was the perfect solution. My business hasn't stayed on top all the time, but for the first 10 years, with my now growing sons help, I grew the business every year, and now I am still on my own, and flourishing strong, supporting a son in college, and having a great time. Hard work, long hours, doing anything and everything to keep my customers happy, and still attract new business, but with out that support network and that of my company, it never would have happened. I am so happy I made the plunge, my mother at 97 told me ever day till she passed, don't stop, and considering she never did, neither have I.
