Frank Meyer has been a folk, country, Americana singer/songwriter since 1970. Since then, he has played pubs, coffeehouses, small concert halls, and festivals throughout the northeastern part of the United States, primarily in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. In 1982, he met the love of his life, Siobhan McGuire, and she began running the sound at his performances. McGuire, who has an excellent feel for sound, became interested in the acoustic bass in the early 1990s. She learned the instrument quickly, and the two formed the group Meyer and McGuire in 1993.
While the two worked their day jobs as educators and their nights and weekends as musicians, they managed to go into the studio for the first time in 1993. They produced the album Home Town. The CD contains twelve of Meyer’s original tunes. McGuire does not appear on this album because she did not feel confident with her bass playing at the time. However, by 1998, McGuire was ready, and she and Meyer produced Caught in the Middle, a collection of ten of Meyer’s original songs.
In 2006, Meyer and McGuire retired from teaching at Canandaigua Academy in Canandaigua, NY. They produced The Road Less Traveled, a collection of fourteen of Meyer’s original songs, and in 2022, they produced STILL GIVING IT OUR BEST, a collection of 12 of Meyer's original songs. The duo has performed shows in Massachusetts, Ohio, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. they now spread their music around the world via the internet. Since the release of their CD, STILL GIVING IT OUR BEST, they have continued to release singles to a variety of streaming platforms. They plan to bop until they drop.
