As of August 2016, with the new rules drone pilots are now required to pass the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) remote pilot knowledge test “Unmanned Aircraft – General” for everyone operating a drone for any commercial or business purposes. The 18-hour Introduction to sUAS course instructs professionals on how to fly drones safely and legally, prepare for the FAA certification test, and access new opportunities. Our hands-on Knowledge-to-Action curriculum, tested and vetted by the State University of New York, gives advanced insight into the business and employment opportunities created by drones. Topics covered include flying multi-rotor & fixed-wing drones, indoor training, diverse flight systems, maintenance, registration & certification requirements, safety, insurance, industry applications, emerging technologies, and the latest FAA policies. Additionally, SkyOp is now an FAA Knowledge Testing Center and provides testing to receive your FAA Remote Pilot Certification.
