About Us
I have an exceptional variety of experiences. I worked for many years in many businesses as a legal secretary, paralegal, office assistant, A/P and A/R clerk (with emphasis in collections), casino dealer (blackjack, roulette, pai gow poker, "carnival games"). I wrote an award-winning non-fiction book (located individuals scattered across the country in pre-Internet era, prepared questions, conducted in-person interviews, transcribed text of interviews, wrote chapters, found publisher, typeset and indexed book, etc.). If you need help with words or numbers, I'm your man! Go to www.atyourservicelimited.com for more information.

"I recommend Brad enthusiastically! I had a last-minute emergency. Brad and John (Project Manager) met me at 8 am on a holiday (and they were early, even with awful weather conditions!), performed the work quickly, provided the paperwork quickly, and gave us the information we needed to have a mold remediation done. I am THRILLED to have them in my "stable" of contacts!"

I don't use it to draw new business from strangers (although it may happen on occasion) -- as a boutique one-man organization, I have to be careful about overextending myself with too many clients.

I have a website, but I mostly use it to provide confidence in potential clients. I do a lot of face-to-face networking, and I find that most of my business comes as a result of those efforts.

If you're given 60 seconds, you might as well use them! I vary my approach, depending on the audience. I belong to a networking group where we do 60-second introductions every week, so I try to talk about a different aspect of my business every week. If I'm talking to a group where most people...

I belong to a networking group where we do 60-second introductions every week, so I try to talk about a different aspect of my business every week. If I'm talking to a group where most people don't know me, then I will try to briefly tell them as many things as possible that I do, hoping that something will spark his/her interest, and if someone is interested in any aspect, I will hope they will remember it and contact me. Humor is also a great tool to use to get people to remember you!
The biggest problem I have is finding time to do it! (The shoemaker's children go barefoot, as the saying goes.) Bookkeeping is one of the many services I provide in my boutique concierge practice. I'm the guy who balances his checkbook to the penny, so doing the work is no problem at all for...

The biggest problem I have is finding time to do it! (The shoemaker's children go barefoot, as the saying goes.) Bookkeeping is one of the many services I provide in my boutique concierge practice. I'm the guy who balances his checkbook to the penny, so doing the work is no problem at all for me. And I learn my clients' existing systems pretty quickly - I work as an independent contractor, so it's important that YOU understand whatever system you choose to use. If doing this work or finding time to do it is your problem, you might want to contact me! I can work from your office, or I can work on my laptop from home - whatever works for you. I don't prepare taxes, but I can save you time and money by helping you prep FOR your accountant at a much less expensive rate. Paul D. Cain, www.atyourservicelimited.com.
I have my hair cut usually about every 5-6 weeks, when it starts looking shaggy. I can usually tell when my eyebrows get out of control that it's time to take care of business.

1700 sq ft house outside of Palm Springs, CA. Three adults; no kids; now no pets (Kitty passed a couple of months ago). We pay $100 every two weeks (was $80 until a few months ago). Seems fair to us.

Your client probably is not the expert in your field -- YOU are! So use your expertise to your client's best benefit. Again, this may also require your educating your client to what s/he REALLY needs. Some clients won't like this, however. Then you have to choose between giving him/her what s/he REALLY needs and keeping the client. That can be a tough choice. Good luck!

It depends on how much business you have, and how savvy you are about computer stuff. If you are an electrician, or a pest control business, for example, you may not have the typing speed and the time to handle these sort of matters yourself. In that case, it would certainly make more sense to outsource them. An assistant (whether employee or independent contractor) is almost certainly going to cost you less per hour than it would cost you to be making money doing what you do. S/he can probably do more in less time than you can do, too, if you hire the right person. Of course, it's the kind of work I do for a living, so I have to acknowledge my bias.
My health care costs. And I'm a sole practitioner. I have my husband's COBRA for about another six months, and then it's going to get even worse. Now paying almost $800/mo for medical, dental, and vision. God only knows what it's going to be by July 2019.

I think it might depend on how old my car was, and how long I intended to keep it. In the last year before I had to sell my car, I cared most about keeping the cost down. If I had a problem with my new car, then I would probably care more about quality.
