Mary McGraw Gordon, Licensed Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor, provides counseling, consulting, and coaching on Family Recovery from Addiction to Individuals struggling with Substance Abuse, their Family Members, and Addiction Treatment and Mental Health organizations.

How We Got Started

After four decades of providing addiction services in New England and California , 20 of which I served at Betty Ford Center as Director of Family and Outpatient Services. My passion for helping families recover continues.

Thank you for this question.   And I would say I definitely am better prepared with my website offerings, my zoom services, my outreach and marketing.   My plans to make it through are to stay grounded in gratitude continue to do my best to serve my families, clients and provide education,... (more) Thank you for this question.   And I would say I definitely am better prepared with my website offerings, my zoom services, my outreach and marketing.   My plans to make it through are to stay grounded in gratitude continue to do my best to serve my families, clients and provide education, counseling, coaching and experiential services throughout it all.   It's like being on a long long bridge and slowly moving to the other side.  We will all make it!  As a small business owner and member of our community I respectfully follow all guidelines of masking, distancing, and no large gatherings.   My husband and I both had COVID and he ended up in the hospital and it was touch and go for awhile.  Grateful we both survived. My heart goes out to the 100's of thousands who have died and those who are still going through this.  Thank you front line workers!    Mary Gordon      mary@innerdirectionrecovery.com

My zoom clients vary from individuals, to groups to families.  Rather than just talk/listening  support, I utilize my tool box of experiential and interactive tools to support them.  Examples:  drumming, chi gong movements for lowering anxiety, practices that link the left and right brain for... (more) My zoom clients vary from individuals, to groups to families.  Rather than just talk/listening  support, I utilize my tool box of experiential and interactive tools to support them.  Examples:  drumming, chi gong movements for lowering anxiety, practices that link the left and right brain for more clarity, power points, handouts, etc. I'm finding that the clients who come to my Zoom services respond to this variety of experiential practices with enthusiasm.   While serving  as Director of Family and Outpatient Services at Betty Ford Center we often used interactive support for families and patients.  This translates nicely into the Zoom experience also.  Thank you,  Mary Gordon www.innerdirectionrecovery.com
