You state that you have a passion for the travel industry. A good starting point in figuring out how to scale the growth of your business would be to honestly answer the following question: Of all the businesses you could have started, why did you decide to start a travel business? Hopefully your answer will have something to do with solving a problem commonly shared by you and many other people. If so, you’ve just identified the formula to connecting to prospective clients. Tell everyone why you’re in the business you’re in, then cater to the customers who your story resonates with.

Here’s an example of how elevating passion can help an entrepreneur connect to a community. What if I told you I was a doctor who specializes in treating ovarian cancer. I attended one of the finest medical schools in the country, and am trained in all the latest techniques in treating the disease. So if you have anyone in your family suffering from ovarian cancer, I’d appreciate a referral. Would this motivate you to refer someone to me? Probably not.

Let’s try this a different way. What if I told you I lost my sister to ovarian cancer. This loss drove me to become a doctor, with the singular focus of curing this horrible disease. I’ve trained with the leading specialists all over the world, learning about every form of possible treatment possible, which allows me to create uniquely customized treatmeet plans for every patient I treat. If you know of anyone suffering from this disease, I’d appreciate an introduction so I can assist them in their battle. I’m guessing this might convince you to make that introduction.

Once you discover why you’re so passionate about the travel industry, lead with that passionate as you market your business. I guarantee your success rate in obtaining new clients will increase.
