I've spent nearly 30 years building software systems and helping people navigate technology that didn't come with a clear instruction manual. My career has taken some unexpected turns — including teaching people to fly helicopters and a trip to the South Pole — but the common thread has always been the same: I learn complex things fast and explain them clearly to people who need to act on them.
These days, I do that with AI.
I founded R4 Digital Systems to work with local and regional business owners — particularly in the trades and home services — who are hearing a lot about artificial intelligence and aren't sure what to make of it. The tools are real. The potential is real. But so is the noise, and so is the risk of buying something that sounds great in a demo and sits unused six months later.
My job is to cut through that. Before recommending anything, I start with a clear-eyed look at how a business actually operates — where leads are coming from, where they're falling through the cracks, where the owner is still doing things manually that a system could handle. From there, we build a practical plan that fits the business, the budget, and the team.
I don't take commissions from software vendors. My clients pay vendors directly. My only interest is giving them an honest answer.
If you're a business owner who's curious about AI but skeptical of the hype — or if you just want a straight conversation about where technology could actually move the needle for you — I'd love to connect.
While I've been in the Tech Industry for over 30 years, in 2023 my wife Kelly and our two kids decided to start R4 Digital Systems. We are the four "R"s in R4.
