Jack Gumb
Applegate Real Estate
Charleston, SC native and 13 year Real Estate veteran, Jack Gumb, Broker Associate with Applegate Real Estate, has developed a deep appreciation for the city and its environs. Upon earning an undergraduate and graduate degree from the University of South Carolina, Jack returned to Charleston to begin his real estate career with The Masters Company. After five years of successfully servicing first-time, investment property, commercial and residential buyers and sellers, his varied experience allowed him to open Gumb Real Estate as the principal broker. His first project was to oversee a large-scale historic restoration project that would span three years and result in three high-end condominiums housed in a circa 1855 home on Vanderhorst Street in downtown Charleston's design district. Soon after, his firm joined The Litchfield Company where he opened and operated the company's Charleston arm for 7 years. With a keen interest in maintaining the integrity of Charleston’s prized historic district, the soundness of its many natural resources, and quality of surrounding neighborhoods, Gumb is active in the community and its notable nonprofits including: the Carolina Youth Development Center, Coastal Conservation Association and Spoleto Festival USA. Additionally, he is a member of the Hibernian Society, the Porter-Gaud School Alumni Board, National Association of Realtors® and Charleston Trident Association of Realtors® as well as Grace Episcopal Church. Jack lives on the Isle of Palms with his wife Elizabeth and their three children.
