Bandwidth, upload & down load speeds, hosted vs non-hosted, hardware conflicts, fiber vs copper.....much to learn and understand.

I find that I'm at a disadvantage shopping for any technology.  Phones, copiers, computers. I have made many mistakes and gotten stuck in leases or with a substantial investment that did not accomplish the result I was promised or expected.

My advice: Study and research the topic/technology, then find someone you trust, who understands the technology, to assist you with the purchase. It is hard ask the right questions and make good purchases when you don't know, what you don't know. Often the equipment sales people are well versed in their product, but they are not always good at listening and understanding your needs and providing the best fit. Get some expert help.

I think you are 100% right. I guess the Equipment sales people are also fearing that you know more then them, so they throw these telecom terms that no one know what they are saying. Yes, they should be listening not talking, because that will allow them to know exactly what your needs are.
