Do not use auto iso in this situation. Its good if you are shooting in adequate light, but if you are using flash or indoor available, you should set the iso manually. I have the sony a7iii and my studio iso setting is 150, outside auto iso,  Inside with flash up to iso 4000. I get very useable results at 4000 iso, but generally I like to keep it below 2000.

Thank you Andrew for your advice.  Starting with a new camera is nerve racking, but im sure ill get the hang of it!
