How We Got Started
After serving as CEO of a major non profit organization and appearing on local & national television as spokesperson on a variety of issues I was approached by an agent to co-host a TV series. That did not come to fruition but I began utilizing my Marketing/Media skills to write/produce & occasionally host various Documentaries,Commercials Info-Videos & PSA's. I also continue on a limited basis to offer strategic consulting to various businesses & organizations....www,hcgrp.net

I almost always require a 50% deposit for our video/film productions such as a PSA,Commercial or Documentary. There are significant hard costs we must assume in the production business and if for some reason a client isn't immediately accepting of our work ( has never happened to date!...comments on our website at www.hcgrp.net reflect this reality)) I do not wish to endure "carrying " costs. We always want feedback from our clients and will do everything possible to "edit" or change a Video/Film etc to please the client but there must be a reasonable understanding that if for instance ,there is a company or non profit organization's "Spokesperson" who is not a professional & is awkward on camera...well we can't do much about that. However with music,b-roll and other creative tricks of the trade we will make the individual look & sound as good as possible.

We would never charge for an initial consultation with a client...or potential client. We produce Award Winning Videos and Theater but whether for a nonprofit or for profit business we would need to discuss in detail the needs of that client....Every business or organization is unique and so we must first listen, really listen to the client then create a proposal of some sort that reflects what deliverables we offer & what we can give back if chosen to be a vendor....www.hcgrp.net

Because I both Write & Produce Staged Theatre along with Video/Film ..www.hcgrp.net...for other clients it depends on several things including whether or not the client is a non profit organization. Much of my Video Production business is focused on non profit organizations so my fees are dependent on the size, budget & I'll admit...mission. However I always try to work within the constraints of a given entity's budgetary requirements...within reason. I have turned down some work that was simply not doable for me if I didn't want to lose money...On occasion I do a bit of Strategic Planning /Marketing Consultation & price it the same way I do my Production projects.
I would write more original plays & other scripts as opposed to just writing/producing projects for clients....as much as I enjoy that it does not always allow for the creative freedom of spec projects...www.hcgrp.net

As a Writer/Producer I simply wrote & produced my first project "The Corner Pub" ( www.hcgrp.net) out of pocket then reached out to WTTW Ch-11 in Chgo to see if they would air it. As a Writer/Producer I simply wrote & produced my first project "The Corner Pub" ( www.hcgrp.net) out of pocket then reached out to WTTW Ch-11 in Chgo to see if they would air it. They did ,several times, & it garnered a Midwest Emmy Nomination..I thought of it as an initial "capital" expenditure for my new business venture..Horizons Communications Group"...it was a big gamble but it paid off with more video production work on behalf of both for profit & non profit organizations....as well as media/marketing consulting along with Play Productions for Theater.
If I understand the question...it is asking about venue as well as focus whehn limted to a frist time one hour meeting? To those points I prefer a coffee meeting in a location convemniet to us both and where conversion is not drowned out by noise or commercial chaos.
