Safe And Sound Aging, LLC (formerly Age Safe At Home, LLC)
Safe And Sound Aging, LLC is a professional consultation service run by occupational therapists. These therapists use their medical training to recommend products and services to help anyone of any age live safely, at the highest level of independence, in their own home. Our goal is to help all persons of all ages avoid the need to live in Independent Living Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities and Skilled Nursing Facilities (Nursing Homes)! No one wants to lose their independence!
Our service focuses on prevention as well as restoration or compensation for injury, illness, effects of aging or chronic disability. We often are contracted by the adult children with elderly parents who are beginning to struggle with life at home, yet too proud and independent to ask for/seek assistance. We may also be contracted by trust officers, injury attorneys, professional care managers and physicians that need someone to identify means of preserving anyone's ability to live lifelong at home!
We partner with licensed homebuilders with Certified Aging In Place Specialists (CAPS) on staff. These specialists are experienced in making modifications to existing homes or new construction/additions that will make a client's home highly functional and accessible for the long haul! When paired with the occupational therapist’s assessment and recommendations, these modifications are long lasting, as the occupational therapist will take into consideration disease process and aging process to assure the most appropriate modifications!
Not all recommendations will involve home modification. Many may simply involve seeing other healthcare professionals to address needs that a person has procrastinated upon addressing such as low vision, joint pain, generalized weakness/decreased endurance that can be addressed with physical therapy or personal trainers.
Common equipment such as tub benches, grab bars, faucet/door levers rather than knobs, raised toilet seats/comfort height toilets and other readily available furnishings or devices may be recommended. Everyone is different, so having a professionally trained occupational therapist consult with the person in need will assure appropriate recommendations.
Ongoing needs can be addressed by other service providers recommended by the occupational therapist when family members do not live near loved ones. Issues such as medication compliance, assuring a person in need receives regular medical care, personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping and transportation are addressed as needed.
Safe And Sound Aging, LLC strives to provide or refer it's clients to the most appropriate products and/or services to assure safe aging throughout the lifespan! We look forward to helping everyone Age Safe At Home, not in an institution!
