Genuine Academy, Inc (GenuineAcademy.org) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created to aid in the academic development of at-risk youth in under-served communities. Our three areas of focus are academic enrichment, social engagement, and community development. After operating as a youth mentor program for the past 2 years, we've decided to expand into a full-time high school. Currently, our brother school, Ash Academy is 6-8 and we'll be 9-12. We make the largest impact through our in-school mentoring program, where we utilize a customized curriculum including interactive activities and career based field trips.
The in-school mentoring program is designed to teach students the importance of character development, financial literacy, communication and entrepreneurship. In addition, the eye-catching uniform of our team members contains acronym-based slogans that we use to promote student attendance and academic achievement.
Last, but certainly not least, our community outreach events span across a wide variety of topics such as autism awareness, breast cancer, childhood obesity, and teen suicide. Throughout the year, we host several events to raise awareness and provide students in our program hands-on experience with serving the community. Doing so creates an opportunity to forge amazing partnerships with other organizations and leave a lasting impact on the individuals we help.
