Video is definitely our weak point! My partner, Jeff, is great in front of a camera and can easily pitch what we do! But more and more people are asking me to do more video work, and I'm just terrified and lock up when I get in front of a camera! Any advice on how to get over stage-fright? haha!

Hi Jenny, I am reading everything and will be getting another idea for your pitches soon. On the subject of stage fright I may be able to offer some advice. take what may help and discard the rest. I have a decent amount of acting experience in my past. Stage fright and being nervous in front of a camera are two separate issues. Stage fright. It may help to know that stage fright is the most common issue even within the ranks of the worlds most famous and talented stage and camera personalities. you are not alone! I once did a major speaking role over 5 summers with a cast of almost 200 people on a massive stage. I even had a line up of fans after every performance. Not one actor in that cast was free from getting stage fright, at times I felt like was going to puke about 10 seconds before walking onto the stage, other times I could hear that negative inner voice whispering in my ear "You SUCK! You are a fake! you don't deserve this role! Your going to really wreck the show this time!" and then the call would come and I would walk onto the stage and whatever came came. Kind of like the feeling you get the first time you try to dive off the high board into the pool. It may never go away but its worth jumping sometimes just to prove you can. Nervous in front of the camera. That can be many factors but one fundamental reason most of us get nervous when the camera roles is that we REALLY do not want to look bad in front of everyone. And even when we do a good job on camera the critics in the comment section can be savages. The good news is your not looking to be the next Kim Karstupid pants! LOL You're looking to promote yourself within the context of the business you are in. So should you decide to try video, you may want to look for a person in that filed who you personally feel ok with. And then the two of you just need to do several attempts, repetition and refinement will ease the nervous feelings. you are already doing a good job of being authentic and and easy to deal with on this feed, I am certain with a bit of trail and error you can find it for a camera!
