After more than 15 years in the mental health field, I decided to change my career to writing, and providing writing services.
I was the editor of a publication, “I Have Rocks In My Head” on Medium, and wrote for Medium from March 2021 - March 2024.
I have volunteered as an associate editor and the Social Media Manager for the online literary journal, WordSwell (https://www.wordswelljournal.org) since December 2022.
At that time, I was chosen to replace Clive Matson, a Beat Generation poet who teaches creative writing and poetry, as the leader of his Creative Writing, Poetry and Crazy Child workshops (found on Meetup.com), when he is unable to attend.
In addition, I have self-published two books of poetry and one of my short stories was featured as the story of the week on the writing platform Simily in April 2024: https://simily.co/story-of-the-week/
After a burnout from working in mental health for more than fifteen years, I decided when I recovered not to return to my original career - I chose to give up the security of a regular paycheck to try and live my dream since I was eight as a writer and working in the writing field. I had become estranged from my entire family in August 2022, exacerbating my burnout and when ready to return to work in April 2024, I chose instead to start my own business in the writing field, as well as become a writer myself. I have written and published over 500 pieces and self-published two books of poetry.
