For me, the key is to listen. Listening and taking an interest in a person helps to build a relationship quickly in my experience. When someone feels interesting to another person and cared about, they are likely to want to continue a relation whether its business or personal. If a person feels talked at, they are likely to discontinue the relationship. It is good to find a balance of sharing and listening in communication.
