I am a psychoanalyst-psychiatrist who practices psychotherapy with patients. That is, I talk with them at length, not for shortened periods of time and infrequently, with an emphasis on understanding and undergoing meaningful change. I can give certain medications but at low dosages and for specific time-circumscribed reasons.
