About Us
Piece of Mind Bookkeeping (Fueled by Breakaway Bookkeeping and Advising), is a bookkeeping and tax prep firm with 14 years' experience in the industry. I like to think of us as your financial co-pilot in the pet service industry.
We work with businesses in variable levels, from solopreneurs to small businesses with team members.
All businesses start with a dream, and we work with our clients to provide that peace of mind knowing that their financials are accurate and updated regularly. We focus on the three core components a business needs to be ready for tax time and for providing financials for business decisions throughout the year.

I obtained my master's degree in accounting in 2010, and I love the work as a bookkeeper. I really enjoy helping businesses realize their potential and help see ways to strengthen their business profitability and stay up to date with the most recent information on a monthly basis.

That is something I have not done in the past, but plan to in the near future. Going through the processes may seem efficient, but as technology advances it is possible to find ways to improve.

At the moment I primarily use quickbooks desktop accountant edition. I am learning navision, so I am contemplating using different software to meet the needs of my clients.

I started my business to see what I could do as an sole proprietor. The business grew and I was trying to achieve independence from the normal 9 to 5 gig. My main challenges is marketing, since I am very technical with the process.

If it was for 7 days a hotel may be a better option. If it is more than 7 days, I would prefer an apartment. Airbnb is a good option as well. That way you can experience what it is like to actually live in a foreign city.

It depends on the issue. I have experienced QB POS to have network issues with dynamic ip addresses which required an it person to restore the connection between workstations. As far as QB desktop, I would wait about a week to run the updates because of fixes to the update.

I concur with Maria Cheng. Education is the foundation, and every client is different. Your processes mag be the same but the experience of working with different clients and industries help reinforce your skills. Plus the different industries can help you find a niche in which type of clients...

I only keep paper records for clients that strictly prefer it. Other than that I keep digital copies and shred documents.
