Lakeshore Affirmative Therapy
At Lakeshore Affirmative Therapy PLLC we specialize in helping neurodivergent (Autism, ADHD, PDA, SPD, etc) individuals reach their occupational therapy goals through a neurodiversity affirming and strengths based lens.
Our occupational therapists work with Autistic, ADHD, or otherwise neurodivergent children, teens, and adults that are experiencing challenges with sensory processing, emotional regulation, executive functioning, or motor skills.
With our in-home occupational therapy services, our clients gain the skills needed to be able to participate in their meaningful daily activities.
Lakeshore Affirmative Therapy was founded because I saw the need for neuro-affirming OT services that focused on building the skills needed for participation in everyday tasks.
I wanted to be able to support my clients in the goals that they wanted to work on! And that meant going to their home and addressing meaningful activities like being able to make a meal, pack a backpack, find sensory accommodations for bathing and grooming tasks, or be able to engage in authentic play with friends.
I also recognized the need for OT that would support neurodivergent adults as they navigated new roles and responsibilities. Someone that would support their ability to grocery shop, apply for jobs, complete household tasks, and be able to parent while accommodating their own sensory and executive functioning needs.
This OT practice wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for the neurodivergent adults that share their knowledge and lived experiences via courses and social media.
