EyesOn Design is a group of charity events benefiting the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology. They not only support the local visually impaired but also host 2 global research symposiums. The Eye and the Chip brings global scientists together towards the goal of using nano technology to create and implant to provide sight to the blind. The Eye and the Auto focuses on vision and cognitive thinking towards safer driving. EyesOn Design does this by celebrating automotive design excellence through unique events like the annual Father's Day show at Ford House, featuring hundreds of exceptional vehicles. They honor top designers with awards and support vision research, creating a vibrant community for car enthusiasts and design professionals.
In 1988 Dr. Phillip Hessburg, founder of the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology enlisted the support of the major automobile design offices to create a fund raising car show. It has grown into a globally recognized organization raising funds to support the DIO initiatives.
