Sheago Cosmetics is a branded line of luxury body care products produced by the privately held, Gollman Corporation and is widely known for its food based body butters, specialty hair care and concentrated oil bases, all void of alcohol, mineral oil or petroleum.
History
Sheago Cosmetics was founded by Anoa Stephanie Gollman in Detroit, Michigan in 2002. Sheago Cosmetics became a national phenomenon within the natural foods industry because of their distribution of food based creams featuring 100% grade A shea butter, a widely used natural skin treatment sourced from Mali, Ghana and Burkino Faso. Sheago’s success was in large part due to the founder’s expertise in the area of shea butter and natural body butters which she obtained by working directly with villages, physicians and scientists. Thusly, Sheago Cosmetics is greatly responsible for much of the information circulated today about all natural body butters, particularly Shea. Sheago Cosmetics is equally known for their higher quality body sprays that don’t use mineral oil, alcohol, petroleum, parabins or artificial colors, commonly used in the base of most mainstream creams and lotions, even natural ones.
Sheago Cosmetics is still a premier brand of the privately held, Gollman Corporation based in Detroit, Michigan. In 2013, however, Gollman decided to take her company in a new direction. With a vision to empower other women opening up an economic opportunity for women like herself, she began the fight to transition Sheago Cosmetics into a network marketing company. In 2016, she won the approval of the Board of Directors and other owners to restructure the company.
It was during this time that Sheago Cosmetics began to focus more on the upliftment of women through self-help literature, party promotion and self-affirming products like I am Sacred and I am Anointed.
