About Us

Founded on December 29, 1991 The Open Door COGIC-Detroit is a church of Christian love and most of all the word of God. We have at the time post pandemic four services per week. Strong word and music ministry, youth ministry, and fellowship.

How We Got Started

After many years of serving in former ministry Pastor Evans acknowledged his call to Pastoral ministry with his beautiful wife of 40 years and family of four children at that time. With the support of the wonderful members of the ministry started in a store front to now a 35,242 sq. Feet facility today. To God be the glory!

Yes they have changed, due to the outbreak we lost 3 members to COVID-19. I do not take that lightly the loss of 1 life is tragic. I have decided not to rush back but to come back gradually watching the science and the data. It is important to restore the service but it is equally important to...
