All I have to say is people be smart and think about what they are telling you, MS is Apple and Google(well Google could be) are not tracking your emails, the processing power to track every email in the world is astronomical, so if you receive an email saying that if you forward an email you could receive a reward, don't believe it. And don't fall for those internet pop-ups either telling you your computer is infected. You just need to be smart, and if what they are offering is too good to be true, then it probably is.

What do they want the system to do for them?   Once I know all their wants, I then go and research for them to find the best possible solution. When I return with my research (Design Document) I will hopefully have several solutions for the requirements, these may vary in price, to features, really it all depends on what the client wanted.  I follow ITIL standards, so if what I  bring back is not right, we go back to the requirements and tweak them to help find a better solution. In the end, when I am done, I will make sure they have the best value for the money, and that the system will be able to grow with them and not have to be replaced soon after implementation. They then can decide if they want me to implement for them, or they can take the docs, and shop them around.  I only start charging as I am creating the Design Document, this document is the one with the options and will be edited to just one solution once one is picked.  So, if they decide to shop it, I only ask them to pay a minimal charge for my work to that point.

I like the new one better, the old one is outdated. There still are some things you can do on the new site though, so keep that in mind going forward. The problem is that most Small Business owners have no fear of these things because they have not had something bad happen to them. The real problem is that SMB's do not have a really good go-to source for helping them find the best solutions to their current problems as well as to protect them from future ones.  They have the local PC-tech that fixes their stuff from time to time, but these guys live for broken things, they usually do not have the expertise to offer their clients real solutions to all the possible issues they could run into. This leaves the Owner trying to find time to research on their own what kind of system they should buy, and this usually leads to them not really getting what they need. My company was created to give these businesses an affordable option to research systems and technologies for their business and come back with several options, but always with potential growth in mind.
