(more) Tax Preparers still need some clarifications on the new laws however the laws are pretty clear at this time.  I will begin to do planning with my business clients after Labor Day.  It's all about Single (AGI $157,500) and Married Filing Jointly (AGI $315,000) if you get a 20% QBI (Qualified Business Income) deduction.  Over those dollar amounts there are other factors to consider such as Wages paid and unadjusted assets.

I have seen many returns from those franchises that are missing eligible child tax credit as well as tuition credits. In addition, parents should be claiming the student and their tuition as long as they are able - usually until the students age 23.
