We put our clients on either Quickbooks Online, Xero, or Wave.  They're all cloud based so there's no worries about a client forgetting to back up their data.  My favorite of the 3 is Quickbooks Online.  Wave is free for small businesses but not as robust as the other two and easy for people without accounting knowledge to mess up.  They are consisting improving Wave and Xero.
