How important do you think it is to provide clients/customers access to an outside portal (virtual) to reference more information they may need? Why?

We write both personal lines and commercial lines of insurance.  Many of our home and auto insurance companies allow insureds access to their personal portals to check on their policies and to make changes.  However, like Cierra Cox mentioned, we prefer that the clients call or email us to discuss changes to their polices, especially the commercial polices.

Personal portals are oft not accessed but providing is now de riguer.
