We not only plan to offer trick or treating, we also hope to run a live show with a costumed DJ while passing out treats, giving trick or treaters the option of giving a shout out on air, parental consent required (more) We not only plan to offer trick or treating, we also hope to run a live show with a costumed DJ while passing out treats, giving trick or treaters the option of giving a shout out on air, parental consent required

During that time, I learned that you not only had to understand the client, but also the market/environment in which that company did business. I adjusted not only my presentations, but also my attitude toward local customs and beliefs. Many times we become so embedded in our own world we forget that there are other worlds out there too. To answer the question, I was on a sales trip to Malaysia in 1991. in addition to visiting prospective clients, I was asked to be the Keynote Speaker for an national group of businesses there that all were current and prospective clients.I was picked up at from hotel at seven and driven over 30 minutes to a convention hall that seemed deep in the jungle (In reality only 10 minutes outside Kuala Lumpur). After the customary meet and greet that included introductions to every member, we sat down for what proved to be my most memorable dinner ever. I'm not going to disgust you with the details, but the main course was considered a delicacy there, but revolting by American standards. There I was, at the head table facing potential clients with a dish that would cost the average person in Malaysia a month's salary with a stomach that had already started to churn. with potential sales in mind, I picked up my chop sticks and downed the dish with an appreciable smile on my face. fortunately i had 30 minutes after the meal to settle my stomach before the speach.

When it comes to volunteers doing what professionals are paid well to do, you get what you pay for. Because they are untrained, they can actually do more harm than good. Bite the bullet and hire a well recommended pro. (more) When it comes to volunteers doing what professionals are paid well to do, you get what you pay for. Evaluate their true importance to your company (related to your profits and stature in your industry because you have them) and how much it costs you when they do not pay on time. Also look at how important your company is to you. Any pressure you put on them could result in losing them as a customer, but can you really afford to keep them? A realistic evaluation of their the importance allows you to determine what kind of pressure to can apply and how hard you can push. If you are very important to them, you hold the stick and can withhold goods or services until they pay, or put them on a COD status until they pay. If you get the feeling that they believe you cannot afford to lose them, turn the table on them. Contact the owner or the primary manager (not their AR). Tell that person how much you appreciate their business and how very sorry you are to see they are having financial issues that prevent them from paying on time. Ask if there is anything you can do to help while they work through their crisis. If a crisis really exists, you may be able to get them to agree to late charges. It also shows you they may be in trouble and gives you time to phase them out. Most likely they owner/manager will feel embarrassed that a supplier thinks they are suffering financial issues and will want to allay that to prevent other suppliers to hear rumors.

We post daily to most of the social media sites and have found them useful tools in getting our station in front of potential listeners. Social media is an excellent tool, but one that must be maintained daily as the momentum gained is quickly lost through lack of attention. In the Broadcasting business, you actually have two 'customer bases' that apply to that question, but in both cases, there are never enough of either and you have to continue improving and/or broadening what you have to offer each.
