IF after going through that process & or any negotiations as far as pricing, you determine they are being unreasonable or too "demanding", I would walk away & wish them luck. Although it might be lucrative deal, I have better things to do with my time & efforts then to quibble almost every time I would have to do a Service Call at their facility; I do have many other commercial clients who are more appreciative of my time & service. Remember, it is YOUR business & for the most part, YOU are trying to do your best in advising them on the best way to proceed. YOU should within reason,  be calling the shots; NOT them.

Keep in mind, you already have a "Home" business; going into a "Store Front" shop means, you WILL have DOUBLE monthly expenses. You are going to have a monthly Mortgage payment or rent payment on your home then a monthly rent payment on the store front. Then, you WILL have a double power bill; one for your home & one for the store. You will also have a double Insurance payment; one for your home & a separate Insurance Policy for the store. Keep in mind, MANY store front units have it in the Lease Agreement, where the tenant of the unit IS responsible for the maintenance of the Heat / AC unit as well as, water / sewer usage, trash pick up / removal, etc. I have also seen it where some units are also responsible for  monthly "grounds" maintenance. BEFORE you sign anything as far as a lease is concerned, READ the so called fine print with a magnifying glass! IF possible, have your Attorney look over the lease BEFORE you agree to anything & sign on the dotted line. I know of the excitement when your business has grown to the point where you need more space. However, it does come with a MUCH larger monthly expense & some additional headaches. There's nothing worse as a business owner in a store front / mini mall or plaza, being woken up in the middle of the night with a phone call from the police dept telling you, there's been a break in or worse, a fire at the plaza. Unless you have a "service" business where you have customers coming to your home on a "regular" basis, in today's world & all the uncertainty, I would definitely consider staying put. Another thing to consider & keep in mind, when you have a store front, you are "chained" to the store during "normal" business hours. Unless you have TRUSTED employees who have full, complete knowledge of the product you sell & are capable of insuring complete customer satisfaction & are willing to "baby sit" in a store for 8 hours a day, again, I would consider staying put where you are. Also IF you decide to go into a store front, make sure there is plenty of "foot traffic" & ample parking space for your customers. The walk in foot traffic MUST be able to "pay" for ALL the additional monthly store expenses as well as, produce a profit; otherwise, it's going to be a losing proposition & that is not why you are in business. Please, take this advice from a business man for the last 49 years & have been in a store front as well as a complete mobile service. Believe me, I will take the complete mobile service ANY day of the week; you will sleep better at night. Good luck.

Pricing can be very competitive. Some business would cut your throat, pricewise, IF it meant they would get the job. I have always believed in fair competitive pricing, day or night & especially on "after hours" calls, weekends & Holidays. IF your pricing is fair & competitive, securing the customer usually isn't an issue. Yes, there will always be the "window shopper" calling around looking for a better price. I always reffer them to my web site to look at my "customer reviews" page & that usually seals the deal. IF they tell me, "Joe blow" can do it for xx price, I tell them I will match their price & offer an additional 5 or 10% off provided, they did not low ball the job just for the sake of getting the job. Remember, you are in business to make a profit. IF you have many satisfied customers, great customer reviews, fair & a competitive price structure, an on time service record & provide friendly, curtious service, securing a deal or client should not be an issue.

When they needed work done, I would give them a written estimate & when they had a check ready for me, only then I would go out & do the work for them. It saves a lot of grief & you still keep a good working relationship with the customer. Sometimes you just have to let them know, you also have expenses to meet & it's not personal, it's business.

Most of the time, it's usually a new home purchase. In business, it's usually do to employee turnover or new ownership. Other times, it can be due to divorce, separation, other domestic issues, lost or stolen keys. The reasons can me quite numerous.  (more) Most of the time, it's usually a new home purchase. Then of course, there's the question of availability; is it a vendor who's usually out of stock on some products? Then, there's always the bottom line. Which vendor / warehouse offers the best price & shipping. Many warehouses offer free shipping if you order a certain amount of product. All I can say is, do your homework & shop around. The best price & service from a good supplier / vendor will help your bottom line & in turn, you can also pass along that savings to your customer if you chose to do so. They will love you for it & you'll have a loyal customer for life.

In the service industry, it's the product first. Then, prompt, on time courteous service is a must. Then, the rest usually falls into place. (more) In the service industry, it's the product first. Then, prompt, on time courteous service is a must. Then, the rest usually falls into place.

For the last several years, many potential customers are "window shoppers" first, looking for the best price. Many competitor's in my industry adjust their prices according to the weather; so to speak. Many charge extra if it's after normal business hours or weekend or Holidays. I don't believe in that nonsense. I have flat rate pricing 24/7/365 & my customers know & appreciate that. Many times, a customer will call around looking for the best price & about 90 percent of the time, they call me back & make the appointment. Remember, you're not going to get every customer & when they tell you they got a better price from someone else, let them go. You can do all the advertising you want but also remember, a satisfied & happy customer IS ALWAYS your BEST referral.
