You may know The Ruby Mountain Resource Center for our fantastic thrift store and clothing boutique and we hope that the community has benefited from our vast inventory! We would also like the community to know about our mission behind the scenes!
Ruby Mountain Resource Center, a beacon of empowerment and inclusivity, is a local non-profit dedicated to providing job training and purposeful, worthwhile work at self-sustaining enterprises for people with intellectual disabilities. Our mission extends beyond employment; we strive to foster independence, personal growth, and a sense of purpose among our participants.
At the center we run two programs to assist participants in a variety of ways. In our Day Habilitation program our Job Coaches work with the participants on communication, social, and emotional skills through the use of interactive activities. Some of these activities include making crafts, solving puzzles, and interacting with the staff at RMRC. In our Pre-Vocational Program participants work in the thrift store and boutique. They perform an array of jobs including the intake of donations, shredding, and cashiering. Our goal is to assist the participants in developing their communication, social, and workplace skills.
