Your parents might be grooming you to take over the business and they want you to be a lot more than just another employee. they are being parents, teachers and employers. i have three sons who worked with me in the business and I told them they have to work harder then other employees as they would be role models and I did not want others thinking that the bosses kids are getting away with less work.
The best way to maintain your car is to have regular oil changes at a repair shop or dealership where they can spot future issues and appraise you of that and after the car is a few years old ask them to do a safety check once a year.
