Unemployment denied. I have a skin care business. 6 weeks with no income by May 15. Same time husband goes trough cancer surgery. Not the easiest time for me

They weren't set up yet for people who were not eligible for unemployment before this happened. They are saying they should be ready for self employed and independent contractors the week of April 22nd.

Yes. If you got a denial letter as self-employed that’s not the end of the story. I got one, too. Then you should get one with your actual amount.

I went through cancer treatment and I couldn't imagine dealing with this added stress on top of that. It sounds like there is hope for sole prop businesses though. I think the extended unemployement will work for you.
The Washington State Employment Security Department (ESD) is asking folks who want to enroll in the expanded unemployment insurance program to do so AFTER Saturday, April 18th.
