The Eugene Hostel is located in the Whiteaker neighborhood and reflects the colorful nature of the area. Proximity to the Willamette River, Skinner's Butte, and the great restaurants and shops near fourth and Blair make for a great location to explore the culture of Eugene.

The owner, Mac had just returned from a five year adventure living and working in Europe. As a youth center director, he was able to contribute to the hearts and minds of military youth located in various locations throughout Germany and Italy.

Upon returning to the U.S to be closer to family and start the next adventure, he accepted a small project developing the website for a start up business in the Whiteaker neighborhood for the yet unnamed Eugene Whiteaker International Hostel.

In it's infancy, the hostel had no foundational infrastructure, or marketing to attract guests. This led to additional projects such as rack card art, online booking engines, and bare bone bed construction and reception.

Now, fifteen years later Mac has put most of the essentials in place and retains an exceptional on line rating based on the experience of thousands of guests who have visited from all corners of the planet.
