PUR makes and sells jewelry that is beautiful, lightweight and inspiring. Our jewelry is inspiring because it’s handmade out of used plastic collected through several businesses here on the coast of Northern California. Wearing PUR jewelry ignites conversations that bring awareness to the overproduction of plastic.
How We Got Started
Originally, I wanted to shred material to make art yarn. During my research for a shredder, I came across Precious Plastic and fell in love with the concept of recycling plastic.

I signed up right away at SBDC and got lots of information and help. In addition to SBDC, other sources for business advice are my mentor teacher from college JoAnne Berke, and two other local women who have very successful businesses:Amy Fowler of Habidashery and Merry Cours of Ash beads.
