Ballard + Mensua Architecture is a boutique architectural firm specializing in the design and project management for upscale residential custom homes, additions and renovations, interiors, landscape and Historic Preservation projects. Seth Ballard, the principal opened the firm in 2005 after a dozen years of working under top international architects. The firm is unique in that it offers full turn key project management, from full design of architecture, interiors, interior decorating, landscape design, contractor selection and construction oversight. With Seth Ballard's experience teamed up with famous area builder Frank Bell coming on board to assist with large projects, the firm offers significant construction management experience, woven into truly custom designs. Amanda Provost has now joined the firm to head up Interior Design and decorating and work with the staff of seasoned architects. Ballard Mensua has formed strong relationships with the top builders in the area as well as craftsmen and vendors of all of the finest products and services in the area. Ballard Mensua likes to liken itself to the equivalent of a custom tailor -- our projects are far from off the shelf. We specialize in custom homes, renovations, vacation homes that meet all of our clients needs and dreams. Ballard Mensua won Best of Arlington magazine (architect); Top Architect Northern Virginia Magazine; Top Residential Architect (Build Magazine 2016); Top 100 Designers Home and Design (2011-2017); Best of Houzz (2016) and Angie's List Super Service Award (2014, 2015).

The one problem with my particular brand of architecture (single family residential, working directly for the homeowners) is that once we complete the final phase of a project, my work is done with that client. In many cases they hire us to design their second or third home, but otherwise we have to find new clients. Therefore maintaining my relationship with prior clients so that they feel motivated to refer us is imperative. Social media has allowed a means for prior clients to post reviews that are then seen by more people. Why we participate in a lot of social media.
