Cybersecurity is the proactive approach to securing your network and data.  Too often do I hear people say "my modem from [insert ISP here] already has a firewall built in to it, doesn't it?"

A firewall is only part of the solution.  You have other things like Virus Protection, SPAM/Phishing Filters, Application Control, etc. to consider when implementing a cybersecurity plan.

Then you have the human factor to contend with. Especially with BYOD being very popular.  I install what I call "Gateway Security Appliances" for my customers.  It is much more than a firewall and it inspects every packet moving in and out of their network.  Those packets can then be allowed or denied based on specific rules that are sometimes set on a per-company basis.

The more valuable your data is, the more secure you need your network to be.
