"I hired Acadia Stairs to build wrought iron railing for a stone stairway. Toad and his staff did a great job working with me to translate my desires into a railing that exactly met what I expected. It does not get much better than that!"

"Kimberly is a very detail oriented thoughtful designer. She goes to extraordinary lengths ensure a unified vision is carried through the whole project. Her concepts are both clever and stylish. In our recent work together she drove design inspiration from existing Carnegie Steel Beams. Her idea was to celebrate the antique structural elements while also expanding that into an expression of industrial elegance. I was very excited to work with her on these elements and apply that to the stairs and rails we made for her project."

It depends on the meeting & the situation. If you are expecting an urgent call from a client (that may or may not be related to the contents of the meeting) then it makes sense to leave it on. It is good practice to explain why an interruption may be imminent prior to beginning the meeting. Sometimes the cell phone can being used as a tool helping with getting information for things related to the meeting. It may happen that some people allow their focus to be thwarted by cell phones or other distractions during a meeting. It is unfortunate that common sense, courtesy and decorum are not perceived in a mutually beneficial manner in meetings and in other contexts. Some companies may need to have written rules about this, but a culture of respect and understanding lead by example could yield better results.

We do thank our customers when they purchase a stair for their homes & we mention that we are happy to help them with future stair & railing projects. We also mention that we can provide other accessories for their stair, as that we may be able to help fabricate other misc. metal works. We do not generally reach out to home owners, for the same reason Arthur Wise Architects (above) mentioned. Contractors and other dealers do contact us for projects year after year, but we do not cold call them looking for work.

Acadia Stairs itemizes the prices for each component of the project. We give options for each component so that the client can choose what options are right for their budget & design goals. This way the client picks what parts they want to purchase, they choose what prices are right for them. Giving the client options to choose things at different price levels within your own offerings allows the client to focus on price levels within your "store". If the client compares prices within your offerings first they will be more educated in what they are getting for their money. If they then compare your prices to others they will know what the price difference means.

Acadia Stairs starts with listening to all the dimension and layout needs for a project. We then put together a stair system that will work within those requirements for each style and set of options that are most preferred. We let the customer choose what components and accessories are right for them, each stair we build is custom made and tailored to their needs. When a customer orders a stair from us we create a shop drawing showing all the dimensions and options so that they can verify field conditions and it gives them one more chance to confirm tread, railing, stringer and finishes before approving for production. After a stair project is fabricated we pack and make a custom skid for each stair before shipment. We ship our stairs by common carrier all over the US and Canada. If you choose to pick up your stair we are available during normal hours or nearly any time by appointment so you can pick when to come and get it. Once your stair is on site our sales and design team can provide technical support over the phone during or outside of normal hours.
