Established in 1987 by John Biffar, Dreamtime Entertainment is a leader in film and television production. Located in the SW Florida areas of Fort Myers, Naples, and Cape Coral. Today, Our Emmy award-winning team of Producers, Directors, Camera Crews and Editors are dedicated to producing superior programs and building long-term relationships with our clients. Today the team of John Biffar and Dave Beaty provide high end production services to the southeast.
In addition to our HD camera packages, lighting and grip, we have a state of the art studio facility with 2 luxurious HD Final Cut Pro Suites and a screening room with theater seating. All located in the tropical paradise of southern Florida.
Dreamtime Entertainment provides solutions and branding creation for our clients. We develop creative and produce broadcast commercials, features, corporate videos, web video, long form, original programming for national, international and home video release. Projects have ranged from television series and prime-time specials to feature film, national commercials and corporate marketing. Content has ranged from reality and non-fiction, to fictional dramatic. We have focused on story-driven health care related programming through our sister company Healthcare News Network.
Dreamtime’s complete programs and package inserts have aired on The History Channel, HBO, HBO Family, PBS, The Travel Channel, NBC, A& E, Fox, ESPN, Nickelodeon, The Learning Channel, The Golf Channel and HGTV. We wanted to share some of the background of Dreamtime Entertainment and what makes us one of Florida's and the USA's premiere production companies. Many of you know us and have worked with us for many years. Others newer to our area don't know the many things that sets us apart from other firms.
John Biffar started Dreamtime Entertainment around 2000. But it was not his first video company. Long John Productions began in the mid 1980's. John, complete with 3/4 inch and Betacam tape linear editing opened shop. Ampex switchers and ADO Digital Video Effects. Chyron and audio. The first independent production company in the area to offer full machine controlled AB roll editing. Next came Trilogy Media Group and Bush Entertainment in the 1990's with the introduction of computer non-linear editing. Myself, Dave Beaty, came on board in 1994. Both John and I had spend many years as journalists at the CBS affiliate WINK TV and had many awards for reporting and videography under our belts. At the time I joined with the A-team of Alex Menendez, Wilson Hawthorne , Tom Carlson and Renee Humbert. John was involved in working on the feature film Captiva with Ernest Borgnine at the time. His first theatrically released 35mm feature film.
From 1996-through the formation of Dreamtime Entertainment, we produced, wrote and edited numerous national documentary films with producer Phil Frank. These included the Cable Ace nominated Wildlife Encounters on Travel Channel, the series Freeze Frame, also on Travel Channel and Waters Edge The Bahamas. We didn't simply come in and shoot, we researched, wrote, produced, filmed, and did post production , script to screen on national cable TV. In the early 2000's aside from many PBS specials and many Emmy Awards, we began producing new programs for History Channel, including Fireboats of 911 and History Undercover's The Nazi Plan to Bomb NYC, featuring new 3D computer animation bringing the story to life. Today we continue producing national content you may have seen on PBS with musical specials and documentaries.
For over 20 years John and I have been producing artistic, imaginative and compelling stories through the latest technologies.
