Do you reflect on your previous year or simply set goals for the next year?

Reflections.
Do you reflect on your previous year or simply set goals for the next year?

I have not taken much time to reflect, I have set short term goals for 2019. Reflection is important.

What is biggest win in 2018 that surprised you? (It could be personal or business related) Take a moment to reflect.

I take the time to go back over last years calendar to write down names, phone #'s, and emails of people I worked with or spent time with to reconnect. I look at where and with whom I spent time with. Were they busy or productive. I spend some time in last years journal(s) asking the same questions. Then I can put together my Vision(Future Picture). Reestablish my Mission (My Purpose/Calling). Then build the Strategy (My Plan). The evaluation part of this is a daily ongoing process. If you need help - I am here for you.

I do both. I  set new goals or refine and adjust previous ones based on feedback. Reflect on what went well. Reflect on what didn't go well and how I can adjust and make improvements. The biggest win in 2018 that elated me more than surprised me was seeing my program Collateral Changes™ come to life according to my vision and have it thrive.

I always take some time to reflect the week before New Year's. It helps me to see where did well, what I'm proud of, what I'm ready to let go of, what I want to continue doing and more. If I don't take the time to think about the year, it's hard to figure out what I want my goals to be for the new year. I also set a theme or a word for the year that I keep in front of me (I decided on LIMITLESS for 2019). I've included the questions I used and put in my newsletter. Feel free to share. Hope they help. And to answer your question, my biggest win that surprised me was meeting the man of my dreams.

In 2018, what were your greatest accomplishments, successes, breakthroughs and/or achievements? (Don’t be judgmental here and don’t be skimpy. Just take the blinders off and write.)
How and when are you going to celebrate yourself for those accomplishments?
When did you feel most powerful, on fire and absolutely fabulous?
What did you learn about yourself and your life this year? What insights have you gained?
What are you most grateful for?
What remains unresolved?
What are you ready to leave behind or release?
Do you have any disappointments from 2018 that are weighing on your heart and mind?In what areas of your life are you settling?

Are there any things in your life that you are tolerating?
What was your greatest learning in 2018, about yourself, about your family and the world around you?

Who did this year help you become?

Complete this sentence: "For me, 2018 was the year of ______________."
What actions and habits will you need to take to reach your goals in 2019?

What do you need to tell yourself every day in 2019 to help you reach your goals?

Complete this sentence: "For me, 2019 will be the year of _______________" or "My theme or vision for 2019 is _________________." (This is not about resolutions or specific goals with due dates. This is about your dream or vision for the upcoming year. What excites you and gives you energy? What is your imagination telling you? What are you feeling compelled to do? What do you really want out of life this year? What theme/word will you refer back to when you need to keep going?)

If you don’t reflect it’s impossible to measure and celebrate how far you have come.

I always reflect on the previous years and from that expyset new goals accordingly

Both. It's difficult to improve if you haven't measured where you've been :)

I find it most important to take the time to reflect before setting new goals.

I do both.

The biggest win ? - That the world didn't blow up.

People are busier today than ever. Stress is putting more folks in mental hospitals than ever because they don't know how to slow down. Impress yourself first, not others.
