Ever since the Inflation Reduction Act was passed and became law, U.S.-based small business owners have wondered how it would really affect them. One of the big questions is whether hiring 87,000 new IRS agents will level the playing field, focusing most of the extra taxation on large corporations. Or will it also lead to higher taxes for small businesses to fund other provisions in the act? So, what's your opinion? Are you worried about this major expansion of the IRS or not? Let us know & please post any other thoughts in the comment section below. Thanks for your input.

This is a clear effort to attack small business owners and individuals alike, who cannot afford to defend themselves and oppose ridiculous and unnecessary audits by the IRS.  The purpose being to bank roll the ludicrous and corrupt spending of the present administration.  Fiscal rule number 1:  don't spend more than you make.

It’s interesting to me all of the freak out over this. Do you pay your taxes? Great! Nothing to worry about. I’ve been doing it for nearly 30 years in business, and I’ve never had any real problems. A few mis-steps that were cleared up via a letter, and a few phone calls to ask questions. If you haven’t done anything wrong, what are you worried about?

87000 is a ridiculous and unnecessary waste of money and why do they need to be armed and ready to use deadly force per their job description

Not only will they target small business But small individuals as well like us This is a massive attack to try and recoup all the money the Dems have spent on worthless programs

People should get a grip. First, the 87k growth number is spread over a number of years. Next, the current  employee count is at least that much less than it was  a decade ago., so its not really net growth but rather return to historical levels. If you weren't harassed in the past, there’s little rational reason to assume this means gloom & doom for you. And if you’re not cheating on your taxes in the first place you’ve no reason for fear.

It's sad to see how much people follow gossip and only repeat what they see and read on social media, mainly based on making some noise and uneducated opinions.

To answer the question: No, I'm not concerned. Extra taxation happens on companies that make more than one BILLION in revenue.

People who do their taxes right and don't evade don't have to worry, especially the small ones that are below 400k/year

Good read about this (plus the linked sources)https://finance.yahoo.com/news...

We are grateful that we are successful in our small businesses and make enough to pay taxes. There were many years when we were not making enough to pay our basic needs.

It is a sign of success to us. A pain in the behind and a growl or two, but we still feel good that we have succeeded in building a working business.
