How can I get competitive shipping rates?
I want to be able to ship items to customers but cannot conceive having them pay more to ship the item than they are going to be paying for the item itself. How can I get around this? I will be shipping cardboard that is about 4 feet by 4 feet with a box depth of 5 inches. Quotes I’m seeing are about $100... Any help would be appreciated.

I have used Unishippers on some occasions and it is very competive rates with several shipping companies , try them out ?
That seems a little steep for what we pay for Fed-Ex. Have you tried USPS?
Unishippers is a good way to save money on shipping. Be prepared for slow pick ups and allow a couple extra days for delivery.
I know there are sites where you can sign up for small business shipping. They have flat rate shipping.
Hi it may pay to use a fulfillment center as they usually get better rates and it pays for itself.
Check with Unishippers. You can receive quotes from multiple shippers at the same time. https://www.unishippers.com/
Can you make the package any smaller? UPS, FedEx work off Dim Weights. We have some customers that work out a flat rate for shipping. Might want to see if that is an option for you.
Where is it going? Often times distance and hard to reach locations play a factor in additional costs.
Try Uship. Have used them twice to move machines. Very happy and very reasonable compared to just calling a shipping co. If your going to do weekly then I would reach out to maybe Old Dominion or similar. Both shipments were shipped by major carriers and where hassle free.
