How do you stay in touch with clients and prospects?

Are there marketing activities you do regularly, and marketing activities you avoid?

The old-fashioned way: Call, meet over coffee, OR have a beer.  Building an actual relationship is always the best way of doing business

I typically stay in touch with them via LinkedIn where I share knowledge, readings, and tutorials but nothing formal or scheduled. Annually, I send them a gift (e.g. during Christmas or the New Year). Lastly, I hold a pulse check meeting once a year to discuss business as well as changes to our business plan but this is left optional for them.

B2B & B2C - I do a monthly e-news that's educational and/or contains helpful information.

For my consulting business, I send periodic check in emails to past clients and prospects. It's not a sales pitch, but a personal email just to see how they're doing.

I also do my best to communicate with prospects in the easiest place to connect with them. I get a lot of messages on Facebook, so I'll reply or reach out there for better ROI when it comes to hearing back.

In the end, with all marketing efforts, I try to think like a customer first and business owner second. :)
